AUTOBIOGARPHY 

I started listening music carefully and tried to learn singing by listening others only. God helped me and made my interest in singing by the passage of time my devotion towards music kept on increasing. Many teachers and people told me to take proper lessons from some professional person to improve your singing. My neighbors and my friends keep on telling me to learn music, but you say it my bad destiny or anything still I have not learn music. I live in the CITY BEAUTIFUL CHANDIGARH this time busy in my studies as I’m in the last session of my schooling. I am in XII (Twelfth Class) and don’t have music as a subject in my school. I just love doing music, specially singing very much and for that I can do anything positive. I have a great learn power and high concentration towards this field and pick up the things very quickly when told to me, says my school teachers and many judges in the competitions I participate. Presently I’m selected for the finals of a Talent Hunt competition called VOICE OF CHANDIGARH which is being organized by Gurukul Vidyapeeth and S4 trust. I’m felling very happy to be a part of this programme. I feel myself lucky and blessed as the competition was really difficult and I reached here only after clearing the past three rounds and the final is going to be held on 28 September on the auspicious day of the birth of the queen of the music Shmt. Lata Mangeshkar ji, a great personality in this profession. Those people are very lucky who get a chance to see her or touch her feet. I also pray to the God that please give me that opportunity to meet her someday.

I have never tried my luck in the talent hunts like Indian Idol or Sa Re Ga Ma PA because in there are no auditions conducted in my city. I have thought to give auditions next year after passing my XII CBSE board examinations in such hunts. I have faith in the God and I believe that he will definitely help me one day in brightening my future.  I want to keep on learning music as much I can. I want to be a part of BOLLYWOOD FAMILY. I wish and I am sure that I will devote myself so much into this profession that one day I will also be singing with the great personalities like Sonu Ji, Shankar Ji , Rahet Ji definitely . I want to have opportunities from anyone even if you require any singer for your project, think once to give chance to this new comer.

I keep on doing many competitions and talent hunt shows locally and now wanted to try my luck in some big project. My parents belong to UTTRAKHAND, a beautiful place where you may find peace everywhere. I also want to promote the beauty of our Uttrakhandi culture by singing their folk songs. My father was also a known singer of his district and I think my singing in inherited by him. I sing western songs of bollywood and folk songs of uttrakhand.

As we are very much away from our home town so we have not done any crucial initiative for that region but I have thought to compose and release an album of GARHWALI songs. I will try my best to get the good wishes of uttrakhand region by spreading my voice such that it touches their core of heart. I want to become a successful playback singer. For such a dream I’m thinking to release an album in my voice next year or it may take some time but I assure you people that I will try my best to reveal my Uttrakhandi culture in that album.

Prizes  

I got my honor as a second prize in a school singing competition by the effort of my first music teacher named HARPREET KAUR. I felt myself very lucky as I was receiving it for first time n my life.

Then I kept on participating every year in my schools competitions and keep on receiving prize in some category every year.

EXPERIENCES {SINGING}

►    Bagged a second position in a singing competition last year in January held by Sony India Pvt.Ltd. and received a Sony play station and voice recording software along with the two mikes of worth Rs 10,000.

►    Got a second prize in a folk singing competition in the ROSE FESTIVAL last year in February held by Chandigarh Administration and received a cash prize of RS 2500 along with a certificate.

►    Performed in a singing talent hunt and was declared second which was organized by CIPA (Chandigarh Institute of Performing Arts) at the lake carnival.

►    Performed in talent hunt organised by Gurukul Vidyapeeth and S4 Trust was declared second.

►    Was one of the finalists of the VOICE OF CHANDIGARH, which was organised by Chandigarh Administration.

►    I am doing a project for Uttrakhand with ANKUR FILMS PVT.LTD in which I will be singing folk songs with the famous playback singer of Uttrakhand Meena Rana ji.

►    Performed in the program “HEARTLINE” organised by Rotract Club with the Pollywood star  SHERY MAAN, the singer of the blockbuster song YAAR ANMULE.

►    Performed in JALSA YOUTH FESTIVAL 2011, in the Leisure Valley when the chief guest of Honour was a renoud singer and a famous comedian SUGANDHA MISHRA.

►    Did a show for a talent hunt named CHANDIGARH SUPERSTARS in Bal bhavan.

►    Launched new range of BSA and Hercules cycles with Murugappa group from Chennai.

►    Did a cultural and heritage program for PAURI GARHWAL MALLA BHRATRA SANGATHAN REG. CHD in tagore theatre, where the chief guest was the cutural minister of Uttrakahnd Sh Prakash Suman Dhayni.

►    Sung a song on a ocassion of Labour day for the three schools DAV 15, DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, Sec 8C & 39.

►    Performed in DAV Colledge and Sukhna Lake for a play “Chandigarh Zharokke Sei” organised by SRIJAN academy.

►    Bagged a second position in ALL INDIA MAHATMA HANSRAJ ARYAN PRE-ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL.

►    Performed in ALL INDIA MAHATMA JANS RAJ ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL.

►    Received an excellence award and a prize from the Home secretary Sh RAM NIWAS Ji and a renouwed comedian JASPAL BHATTI Ji.

MY  FAMILY

My family includes my father (Sh. C.P.KANDWAL), mother (Shmt.VIDYA KANDWAL) and brother (SHUBHAM KANDWAL). We live in Chandigarh in a govt. accommodation. My father is a govt. employee in Ministry Of Health, my mother is house wife and my brother is presently studying in class eighth.

UTTRAKHANDI STARS

Every region has its different folk beauty whether we talk about their culture, traditional dresses or traditional folk songs. Our garhwal is also enriched with all these things. Today’s generation has become soo much advanced and fast in evry thing that they do not even have time to think upon or to know our folk culture. Despite off all this, they even feel shy to listen to their Garhwali Folk Music or in watching Garhwali Movies. They feel their dignity loosing watching these movies instead of the other Bollywood Movies. My only advice to such people is that please find time to know about their culture customs and traditions and also to adopt and promote your Uttrakhandi culture as much as you can. I met some of the artists from our Garhwali industry, who have given blockbusters hits to Uttrakhandi Folk culture; you can see my pics with them below. The one thing I wanted to say about our folk artists is that all of them are down to earth, very much supporting, caring and loving.

LOVELY DAYS

These were the days, moments that I would me remembering throught my life. In the schools days my most of the time was spend in a large hall which was dance room of our school. Till now I used to spare my lovely moments with my musical friends. U might have heard about best friends but it is very odd to listen about “musical friends”. They were nothing but the musical instruments like keyboard, harmonium, tabla , guitar…etc

This is the picture of that room from where I got a sense to know little bit or a part of music. Our dance teacher Mrs. Anita used to sit here and take her dance in this room. Although dance classes were taken here but in the mean time I used to practice a lot here. As I belong to a lower middle class family so it was such a condition that I don’t use to do “RIYAZ” in the home and this was the only reason my memorable days are spent in this school dance room. I wanted to know everything about music but I was not able to take music classes due to my family conditions although I would have love if someone has asked me that he’ll teach me respecting my family conditions.

But as it was not my luck to have learnt music I used to learn it myself, God helped e and gave me a power that I started playing Harmonium efficiently and started getting knowing mistakes on my own. My school teachers used to guide me where I went wrong usually and my friend since a long time Kartik Anand also used to share his experience with me. After passing my metric I adopted Non-Medical but usually I love to miss my studies doing music at that time in the school. I was not looking forward towards my courier and was also not too counscious about my studies. Time went on and my attraction towards music kept on increasing  .

These were some of the moments captured by my classmates while rehersing. For some people they feel very cheap playing Harmonium and felt proud to play Keyboard but it was reverse to me that I love to play Harmonium instead of Keyboard. I don’t know but its voice used to touch my heart when someone played it correctly.I don’t know whether I was was doing right or not but I didn’t listened  anyone and kept on doing what I liked. I don’t  have knowledge at that time what to practice but still used to keep on increasing my skills in music.

 

Just used to practice Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa and then used to repeat it in Alankar. I have that much confidence in my mind that I used to make tunes on the spot in the Harmoniun what the people used to recite.

Life played very misty roles in my life as I was in XII when I started doing shows, events and my participation increased in such activities like singing, my concentration in studies kept on decreasing, I too was not tensed about my courier and was just doing what my heart was saying. My father and mother used to guiding me everyday, every time and was telling me the truth of the wild world and was telling you to build up on my own…but it was only my fault that I was unable to understand what they actually wanted to say to me. I was usually scolded in small-small things as my result was not too effective so that I may win their heart. I was left with no option so that I must convincer them with me, it was the time I was leading my life myself without any support from my home as well as other people, I just had belief in the GOD and keep on sharing all my problems with him.

I wanted to learn music but due to my family conditions I was not able to fulfill what I wanted. I was too fond of it that I started playing keyboard (Piano) without any guidance but I will give its credit to my God who was guiding as well as helping me how to strike the correct note and how to maintain flow in song. Many people asked me that from where do you take your music classes…?? And when I used to reply them that I have not taken any music classes… then their expressions were to be seen… I mean to say they all used to get a little shock and appreciated my confidence.

Each time I used to get a chance to explore my talent to the audience, I was usually appreciated by a huge round of applause and good comments by the respected judges.

My parents don’t like such kind of a participation as they had a strong belief that a good courier is made by leading a hard life and getting good marks, they usually did not supported me comparing the parents of other children’s in such activities. Every time I had to go alone in and event. When I used to go to give auditions, I might see other contestants with their parents supporting them every time, all others had reached their in the morning waiting outside the auditions centers for their turn, but I was even sometime stopped to give auditions or to participate in some events.

I was disappointed usually when I want to participate in some auditions to explore my talent but not had an chance to give because every auditions mostly charge 500 rupees, sometime I had to give false reasons to my friends and my teaches because of such reasons in my singing sometimes.

SHAFQAT AND ME TOGETHER

It was a great opportunity for me to watch SHAFQAT AMANAT ALI KHAN concert live in TAGORE THEATRE on 28 August 2010 in sector 18 Chandigarh. As you all know that singing is my passion and after hearing this I finally thought to go there. I went there with a hope that I would be looking SHAFQAT performing in front of my eyes but when I reached outside the theatre I would only see a tight security everywhere so many officers of police and later on I got to know this huge security was for the Governor of Punjab who was called as a chief guest in this concert. I tried to enter the theatre but one cop stopped me and said, “where r u going?” I replied inside the theatre, and then he asked me where your pass is? To which I replied I don’t have it. So finally they stopped me from entering there. I waited there for a while and someone from inside called me and provided me a pass, I don’t know whether who was he but he was the person having a bunch of passes and I believe that he was the person send from the GOD to help me and finally I got a chance to enter the auditorium.

 As and when I entered the door of the auditorium, I saw there was a ton of people to watch the famous playback singer of Bollywood, I got a seat nearer to the stage by my luck and was so much excited to see him in front of me, in between many questions were arriving in my mind like how he will be looking? What kind of voice he will be having in real? Will I get a chance to meet him? And finally he entered the stage by 7:30 and all I got to hear here is noise of whistling and hooting only. Then he started singing his songs, he started from the song Aakhon Ke Saagar to which all the people were lost in his splendor voice. And in this way he kept on singing songs of the choices of the audience. The concert took up his end by 10 p.m. and the people were onto the way to go to their home. One question that was arriving in my mind again and again was that, “Will I be able to meet Shafqat?” And my mind was saying yes you can, so I kept waiting in the hall and came near to the stage where all the musicians were packing their instruments. The stage was totally surrounded by the police and the other securities. I was loosing my hope after waiting a long; the theatre was empty except the people who had their approach to meet him. I still kept waiting and after requesting one policeman I entered the backstage and all that was in front of me is that Shafqat and his other musicians along with the organizer and some persons of press and media were sitting in a room. Then I got a hope that yes now I’ll definitely be able to meet him. And finally the organizer of the show asked me why do you wanted to meet him to whom I replied sir I just wanted to his blessings and a autograph. He allowed me to enter the room in which Shafqat was sitting, he told me to meet him.

Finally I was in front of the famous playback singer of the bollywood  he blessed me and talked to me in a very respective manner and allowed me to click photographs with him and also gave his autograph. It was really a great experience for a common person and a aspiring singer to meet his idol. Someone has said very true that,“Where there a will there is a way”

JAVED ALI AND ME TOGETHER
This time it was a chance to meet the renowned artist as well as playback singer of Bollywood. He is the man who gave his voice to various hits songs like Nagadda from Jab We Met, Arziyaan from Delhi 6, Ek Din Teri Raahon Mei from Naqqab, Kajra Re Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Bubli, Aao Jo Meri Tammana from Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Tu Hi Haqeeqat from Tum Mile, Kehne Ko Jashan-e-bahara from Jashan-e-bahara,  and many more blockbuster hits. He had taken his professional training from Ghulam Ali Ji and it is the reason that he changed his name from Javed Hussain to Javed Ali. But anyways guys I love his singing and he is really a very good person as well as down to earth. Although it was for a short span of time but it will always be a memorable moment for me to be with him.

TARUN SAGAR AND ME TOGETHER

Before saying anything to bhaiya i would firstly like to wish him Jai Mata Di. Undoubtedly u very well know this talented star for his memorable performances of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2008. He took his profession training from Master Saleem Ji. He got his first break from Shankar Mahadevan Ji who made him sang this blockbuster hit. Guys you all know that which song i am toking about. Yes you all are right it is Oh Girl Your Mine from the movie Houseful. After that he sang a song for the movie Tanu Weds Manu and then for Aarakshan. I met him two times, first time in my city Chandigarh and then in his home in Delhi through my brother who is his very good friend. Keep praying for my bhaiya he just needs your wishes.  

SURAJ JAGAN AND ME TOGETHER
Guys he is also one of the renowned artist as well as playback singer of bollywood. He had given his voice to make many songs and the most recent blockbuster hit is his song Give Me Some Sunshine from the movie Three idiots. Ya guys he is the melodious and talented singer who made u learn this song very quickly and had left an impression in your mind for ever by singing this beautiful song. Besides these he has sung some hits like Sadka Kiya from I hate love stories, Rand De from My name Is Khan, Johnny Gaddar(title song), Zehreelay from Rock on and many more blockbusters.

KAPIL SHARMA AND ME TOGETHER
Hello guys this time i got a opportunity to meet the winner of the SONY telvision show Comedy Circus that is Kapil Sharma who made you laugh from his excellent sense of humour and comic timing. I know rest you all know about him but even then one thing i would definately like to share with you about him guys, that he is really a hard-woking and down to earth person.

RAHUL KANWAL AND ME TOGETHER
This is among one of the most popular faces in media, earlier worked for the channel Aaj Tak as a news reporter and presently working for the channel Headlines Today. It was the time when everyone was curious for the semi final  world cup 2011, yes it was a day before semi final when Rahul was in the city Chandigarh to shoot for the interview with Sourav ganguly and Ramiz Raza. That day i met him, and also got a chance to meet the above mentioned critics.
